A night for foodies who care marks a decade Cocktails & Cuisine on Fri., May 19, when Crisis Center North fills The Woodlands in Bradford Woods with fabulous eats prepared on site by top chefs, libations, dancing, and auctions, 6-10 pm at 134 Shenot Rd., Wexford (15090).

Guests can graze and sip their way through the region’s best cocktails and cuisine from leading restaurateurs, spirit purveyors, and dessert specialists.

“Cocktails and Cuisine is the living depiction of what a community can do when it gathers together to end domestic violence,” states Grace Coleman, Executive Director of Crisis Center North.

More than 400 of Pittsburgh’s most influential people are expected to be on hand, including the Master of Ceremonies, Peggy Finnegan, WPXI-TV news anchor.

This is a relaxed, after-work event where guests can unwind while mingling with other members of the community.

Annually since 2001, Crisis Center North acknowledges important community members with The Northern Star Awards which recognize individuals and groups committed to addressing the issue of domestic violence. Honorees will be:

Joe Martonik has been named Individual Honoree for his work as an active advocate for prevention education alongside his role on the faculty in the Moon Area School District.

Paul Kunco, founder of Karissa’s Army will accept the Community Honoree award on behalf of the organization named in memory of his daughter Karissa Marie Kunco.

Chief Joseph A Ley of the Ross Township Police Department will accept the System Northern Star Award with K9 Neeko from Penny, CCN’s own canine advocate.

Auctions provide mementos and another way to support the work of Crisis Center North. Tickets at $85 include free parking with shuttle service. Premier parking on the Woodlands campus is available through a limited number of $25 parking passes. A $250 Friend of CCN ticket package includes two event tickets and premiere parking.

Free Parking at Marshall Middle School (just down the road from the entrance of the event). A continuous shuttle will run prior to the start of the event through 10:30.

ABOUT CRISIS CENTER NORTH
Crisis Center North aims to empower victims of domestic violence and cultivate community attitudes and behaviors that break the cycle of violence. Funds raised at the Cocktails & Cuisine support Crisis Center North’s counseling and advocacy services, provided to nearly 2,000 domestic violence survivors and prevention education to over 17,000 youths each year. The annual support of the Center’s signature event and largest fundraiser has enabled Crisis Center North to continue serving the community for the past 39 years. Free services also include a 24-hour hotline, counseling, medical and legal advocacy, canine advocates, and prevention education programs for schools and the community.
