As part of PearlDiving Movement Residency (PDMR), join Puppetry Artist Felicia Cooper in a Crankie Making Workshop! Felicia is currently working on a piece based off Pandora's myth. To start off the night, Felicia will share with us the story of Pandora's origin, and from there, everyone of all ages is invited to share in the process of illustrating the story by creating a special crankie that Felicia will incorporate into her PDMR Showcase at the end of the month. All tools will be provided as well as refreshments.
ABOUT PEARLDIVING MOVEMENT RESIDENCY
PearlDiving Movement Residency supports professional movement artists making dance-based multimedia work by providing rehearsal space, technical support, mentorship, and a stipend during a month-long residency that culminates with a free in-progress showing at PearlArts Studios on Friday, June 30. The dual-track program serves both local and visiting artists and offers time in an environment where research, play, and risk-taking are encouraged in order to create and present new work. Participants are committed to personal and professional development, community engagement, and represent diverse voices in the local and national contemporary dance field.
