The British Army stumbled into the frontier conflict for North America unprepared and ill-equipped for the territory. In a war marked by early failures in tactics and strategy, the British Army would have to adapt to their surroundings in many ways to achieve victory—not the least of which was in uniforms and equipment.
Join us for a talk by William Koker, author of “Redcoat Uniforms in North America, 1754-1763,” about how the dynamic and radical changes made to the clothing and equipment used by the British Army to adjust for the battlegrounds of mid-18th century North America.
After the talk, join the BRBHS for a pie-tasting as part of the Third Annual Britsburgh Festival! A variety of meat pies will be available to sample. Learn more about Britsburgh (https://britsburgh.com/)
