James Street Gastropub and Speakeasy is excited to be bringing you a PACKED bill to end your summer! MANIC SOUL will be releasing their live album and Sweet Earth will be recording their own very own album in the same night!
Manic Soul is a three piece act from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that weaves blues, funk, rock, and improvisation into energetic live performances.
While the excitement of Manic Soul's music often borders on the wild, the heart of their original compositions are the soulful progressions of rock and soul. Their repertoire of covers delivers simultaneously unique and loyal interpretations of the groups that inspire their music, including Jimi Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone, Led Zeppelin, and more.
Formed in 2015 Manic Soul has performed widely throughout Pittsburgh, recording their upcoming live album. In addition to performing at various radio stations including WRCT and SLB, Manic Soul was featured at Lobster Fest at Navy Pier in Chicago, where their second demo was recorded. The band is set to release their first full length album in summer 2017.
Sweet Earth is one of the most explosive and original instrumental rock groups on the scene today. The sound is an intricate blend of Mathematic Rock, Grooving Pocket Funk, Bumping House/Dance Beats, Atmospheric Ambiance and Soaring Melodies. No words needed. Sweet Earth is a true musical Power Trio. The band is always writing new material and pushing their musical boundaries. Utilizing their skills as multi-instrumentalists, the three members can be found switching places and instruments during fully improvised sessions. The band seems to transform on stage throughout the course of a show, making every performance a completely unique musical experiment.
Sweet Earth is currently based in Pittsburgh PA but have called both Denver, CO and Los Angeles, CA home in years past. Sweet Earth has shared bills with National and Regional jam acts like Papadosio, Toubab Krewe, The Werks, Twiddle, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Earphunk, The Mantras, TAUK, Turkuaz and many others.
