Maria Caruso’s strength in creating a global platform for humanity in dance, with a focus on wellness and social activism, is brought to life in her new site specific work for Undressed: A History of Fashion in Underwear.
In collaboration with the Frick’s exhibition, she seeks to uncover the rich historical and sociological influences of the collection while formulating a deeper psychological awareness of the influences of undergarments over time. She and the artists of Bodiography Contemporary Ballet Company elegantly and fluidly bring the collection to life through an evening of dance that will enhance the audience’s understanding of the collection, its purpose, its historical and artistic value, and the way in which it changes each of us from within.
