The University of Pittsburgh Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Engineering Graduate Student Organization (EGSO), and Graduate Women in Engineering Network (GWEN) will host the 4th Annual Women in STEM Conference on Saturday, February 10, 2018. The goal of this conference is to inspire and promote young women to gain confidence and achieve excellence in the underrepresented fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Keynote speakers Barbara A. Staniscia, Director of Operations & Deputy Manager in the Instrumentation & Controls Department at Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc., and Alka A. Patel (Pitt MSE alumna), Deputy Director of the Risk & Regulatory Services Innovation Center at Carnegie Mellon University
Five tracks of interactive breakout sessions led by representatives in STEM from academia and industry, including specific tracks geared towards undergraduate students and graduate students, on topics related to professional development, career preparation, and leadership development
