Sat 2/17-Indigo & Shibori Dye Workshop, 11am-2pm
Do you want to enter the world of indigo dreams? Come and learn the beautiful and ancient Japanese resist-dyeing technique known as Shibori. In this class you will learn the basics of creating an indigo dye-bath using pre-reduced indigo crystals and Shibori techniques to generate unique patterns and designs to dye several pieces of fabric that can be made into things OR a set of pillowcases and a tote bag. Each piece will be unique and unexpected and use four different patterns/ styles, so you’ll learn several styles and methods. You will use folded, tied, and bound resist techniques to create your beautiful indigo pieces. This class will be a great starter class to get you going, as well we will expand to offer more shibori projects classes in the future.
