Erik Lawrence is a legendary jazz figure, who has played around the world, just about everywhere except Antarctica. He has won two Grammy's as a founding member of the Levon Helm, and has been part of several platinum albums--playing with everyone from Chico Hamilton to Aaron Neville, Rickie Lee Jones, and Bob Dylan.
In recent years, his work is centered around tone and vibration, deep listening, empathic response. In this «live-crafted» solo performance, Erik will play flutes and saxophones with real-time digital looping—intermixing poems, stories and recordings, and audience interaction to weave a wholly unique sonic experience that he calls a «sound sanctuary.»
This promises to be a highly unusual experience.
