What the Fat?
Obesity. Diabetes. Heart disease. Fatty liver. All modern epidemics. What the fat is going on? Could it be that we are dead wrong about what healthy food looks like?
Come and learn about a new (old) way to think about dinner: vintage eating. Let’s go back to whole, full-fat foods that fill you up and keep hunger at bay. We’ll learn about how to invite natural fat back into your kitchen, and why it will make dinner easier, tastier, AND more nutritious. Plus, we’ll explore a new online tool that helps you answer that age-old—and relentless—question: What’s for dinner?
Imagine life without constantly wanting a cookie… it’s incredible! Imagine life with thousands of easy, everyday dinner ideas at your fingertips… it’s liberating!
Jenni is the founder of Eat the Butter, a local non-profit dedicated to helping mothers and others return to full-fat food. Jenni marvels at just how hard it can be to feel confident about simple things like dinner (and laundry). Her university degrees—human biology and an MBA—don’t seem to help answer the basic questions in life like what to feed the kids. She cooks ‘vintage' for her husband and four kids in Fox Chapel. Her book, with co-author Adele Hite, hot off the presses (just published this year), is Dinner Plans: Easy Vintage Meals.
