Christina Pato is a Galician bagpiper, pianist, and composer as well as a member of and educational adviser to Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble as featured in the documentary “The Music of Strangers”. The program, Latina, is a collaboration with Edward Perez that explores the different ways of understanding just one word through just one rhythm. Pato says she was intrigued by the complex meaning of the word Latina in the U.S. and, through music, she wanted to find a way to understand and explain its journey.
