Vitality Studio is so excited to be welcoming accomplished dancer and instructor Jill Elaine Veronica Collins
to Pittsburgh for an evening workshop on Thursday, June 14th. We can not wait to get in the studio and study with this powerhouse of a dancer.

Ballet Foundations for Bellydance
This 2 hour workshop will help you understand the basics of ballet and how to use ballet technique to enhance your raqs sharqi movement vocabulary. Warm up with ballet barre inspired exercises in the middle of the floor to help you find more strength and stability in your arms, legs and feet. Learn how to travel through space with fluidity and grace with technique tips for turns and extentions. Then learn how to apply these principals within an oriental choreography, complete with a drum solo finale. We will wind down with some stretching exercises to help maintain flexibility and reduce soreness. All levels welcome!
$30 in advance. $35 at the door.

Jill's lifelong passion for dance is evident in whether she’s onstage or in the studio. Classically trained in ballet and modern dance, she began her performing career with TLS Modern Co. in her hometown of New Castle, PA, USA. She attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA where she earned her BFA in Dance Education.
In 2007, Jill joined Los Angeles's premier Bellydance Troupe, «Jillina's Sahlala Dancers». Currently, she is an assistant director/choreographer and performs with Sahlala Dancers in nightclubs, at private events, and has been featured in tv, music videos and film. She has also been a part of Jillina's touring theatrical company, Bellydance Evolution (BDE), since its creation in 2009. Jill has performed all across the USA as well as Africa and Europe with BDE, and is also the company’s dance captain.
She believes the best teachers are the ones who never stop learning, so she continues her dance education by studying ballet and pointe at the Van Nuys Performing Arts Center, and flamenco under Roberto Amaral and Cihtli Ocampo. Other credentials include: Associates Degree with Dance Masters of America, Level V Certificate from the Cecchetti System of Ballet, 2001 graduate from the PA Governor's School for the Arts. Jill's background in Dance History, Choreography, Kinesiology, Psychology, Nutrition and Music for Dancers combined with her extensive performing experience, has made her an in-demand teacher and guest artist around the world.
