June 12th, 2018 will mark two years since the shooting in the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida that claimed the lives of 49 LGBTQ people and allies, wounded 58 others, and affected countless more. This remains both the deadliest mass shooting by a lone gunman and the deadliest single attack against LGBTQ people in United States history. St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh is collaborating again this year with area churches and Acceptance Journeys Pittsburgh in answering the renewed call of the One Orlando Alliance to remember and honor all those who have been affected. At noon (local times), churches around the country will conduct a solemn bell ringing 49 times in their communities to honor the memory of those lost. Please join us on the steps of St. Andrew to show solidarity with the families, with Orlando, and with our LGBTQ family in Pittsburgh; light refreshments and time for fellowship will follow. You can find out more about this movement and other ways to get involved at 49Bells.org
