Over 100 dietary disciples are actively promoted in the media today — Atkins, Ketogenic, Paleo, Mediterranean, South Beach, Vegan, DASH, Weight Watches, Sugar Busters — AAAAHHH!!! This can simply lead us to throw our hands in the air and say «What the heck am I supposed it eat?!»

Do you know what the best diet is? The answer simply is the one that works for you. Also a diet that works well for one person, may not necessarily work for someone else. One of the basic principles of holistic health is that we, as humans, have bio-individuality. Our bodies are the same on a fundamental, anatomical level, buy may vary greatly in terms of chemistry. Therefore, one person's food is another person's poison. For example, one person may totally thrive on a vegan diet and another may get very sick.

The good news is a «diet» exists that is beneficial to everyone, and it goes by a few names — «Anti-inflammatory, Superfoods or Nutritarian Diet». In fact, it's not really a diet at all, but a style of eating that reduces inflammation in our bodies — the root causes of most chronic diseases — and promotes healing. The anti-inflammatory diet views food as medicine, as genetic information and teaches people to eat medicinally and deliciously! It's probably the way of eating closest to what God intended for us.

The Anti-Inflammatory Diet is NOT a weight-loss diet, though it is natural to lose some weight practicing it. You won't be required to eliminate a major macro-nutrient like carbohydrates, fats or proteins — but you will learn how to eat the right kind of those nutrients. Diets that eliminate macro-nutrients tend to be hard to sustain, and can potentially harm cardiovascular health, kidneys, liver and the gut microbiome in the long-run if they aren't followed 100% correctly.

In this class we will not only study how to eat to reduce inflammation, but also how to attack inflammation with sleep, stress-reduction, exercise and supplements. We will also address variables in our external environment that can lead to chronic inflammation in our bodies.

This class is great for just about everyone, but people who suffer from any sort of auto-immune disease and chronic pain may find it particularly useful. Reducing inflammation may also help us all avoid many age-related diseases — cardiovascular, cancer, Alzheimer's — for starters. It's also beneficial for those who are simply looking for a stress-free, healthy way of eating.
