From the artists who gifted the internet with the now famous cat massage and Yogi Ogi Dogi videos comes Everything Is Terrible Live. Everything Is Terrible has spent years dredging up cringeworthy clips from a massive archive of VHS tapes from the 80s and 90s and making them internet gems on their site. They’ve also created 6 features and several art installations, cementing themselves as odd and acclaimed cultural historians in the age of the world wide web.
Their live events include not only the screening of thousands of insane clips mashed together in a style unmatched in its pace and range of truly psychedelic comedy, but so much more. EIT! gives the audience an unforgettable sensory experience that is just as crazy as it is funny. Shows in the past have included a depressed Christian robot, three 7-foot-tall party dogs, cloaked monsters with arms that stretch across a stage, and rapping Christmas trees doing battle with a 10-foot-tall Santa God.
For their latest show — The Great Satan — Everything Is Terrible! has ingested over 2,000 satanic panic, religious kook, and D-horror VHS tapes. They have recontextualized them and created a narrative feature that reminds us all who we are, why we are here, and what we should be doing with our paltry time on this planet.
